Bhavna : The bhavna of rajbhog is that shriji is seated with shri Nandraiji, his father and Dauji, his elder brother for taking meals, Shri Yashodaji is doing the serving.In this bhog shriji eats all kinds of food and prepares for the day ahead.He then sits and gives darshan to the vraj-bhakts (people of vraj) before leaving for the forest.

Sewa-Kram : Refill the jhariji that is keep it on the sinhasan.Put a chowki (table) infront of the sinhasan and put the rajbhog on it (the bhog may change depending on how the vaishnava does his sewa, for more details look at our page on the different types of sewa).If possible, put tulsi leaves while reciting the panchakshar mantra in each item that is kept in the bhog.Leave the sewa room after doing the vigyapti (For details look at the bhog-vigyapti in mangala sewa).

Duration of Rajbhog : The duration may vary between 15-20 minutes though the ideal duration is 50 minutes.

Rajbhog Darshan : Enter the sewa room when the duration of rajbhg is over by asking permission and do the achman-mukhvastra (look in shringar sewa for details).Put a bowl of elaichi and powdered supari infront of shriji.Refill the jhariji and keep it on the sinhasan.Now put the khand infront of the sinhasan alongwith all the khilonas.Below the khand keep the sujani.Now put the gend chowgan (ball and sticks for playing a crocket-like game)on the sujani.If you have prepared the malaji (flowers garland) then offer it to shriji.After all this is complete take the aarasi (mirror) and do the darshan of shriji in it.Do the anavsar preparations on the shaiyaji .After they are complete take away the malaji and put it opposite the jhariji on the sinhasan.Put a small bowl near the sinhasan,this is called trishti.Take one final look to see that no sewa has been left incomplete, have one final darshan of shriji, do dandvat (prostrate) and leave the sewa room.


Anavsar

 Anavsar is the period during which shriji goes to the forest with his cows and takes a nap in a sheltered spot.This period ideally consists of at least 3-4 hours.But as the vaishnavas generally do not do the sewa in the evening they can do the bhavna of anavsar by going out of the sewa room for 5-10 minutes.


Some important words

Panchakshar mantra : The panchakshar mantra is a five letter word that can be recited only when one is sewa and is standing infront of shriji.It cannot be published or recited when one is not is sewa (apras).

Khand : Khand is a wooden stair-like structure.It consists of two steps.It is covered with a cloth.On it two gadis of velvet are kept and the khilonas are put on top of these gadis.

Khilonas : Khilona in Hindi means toys.They are the toys of Shriji.Khilonas consist of cows, horses, lions, monkeys, etc. made of silver or wood.There are other khilonas too which are kept on a padagha (stand) beside the sinhasan.On these padaghas khilonas of moti (left side) and wood (right side)are kept in two plates.These plates contain khilonas such as tops, rattles, etc.

Sujani : Sujani is a carpet-like cloth that is spread infront of the khand.On it the gend-chowgans are kept.

Preparations on the shaiyaji : During Rajbhog we have to ready the shaiyaji (bed) as shriji shall go there for resting during his busy day.First we have to clean the shaiyaji and clear away any creases that may be present.Then cover it with a fine cotton sheet (chadar).Refill the bantaji (lunch box of shriji), jhariji.Also keep a small box of elaichi and powdered supari near them.If it is summer season keep some pankhas (fans) near the shaiyaji.Spread the penda (thin carpet-like gadi) from the shaiyaji to the sinhasan.Keep the chowpad (ludo) near the shaiyaji.
